In this video I’m going to show you what I consider to be a brand associate job description. Brand associates are the people who create the game worlds, design the character models, and design the environments. In other words, I’m going to show you how we create a world in this video. The video starts by showing you the game world we created, which is set in a large virtual desert called Deathloop. You can see it in action in this scene.
Im going to go into detail with the character models. Then we’ll discuss the way we design the environment. We want our environments to feel as real as possible because they reflect the world and the players that come through it. In this video we will show you how we created a desert world with a lot of sand, desert plants, and sand snakes. We chose sand to make our desert feel unique and to also help the player look for new things in the desert.
The reason why I’m on Deathloop is because I’m going to tell you about the art of creating a new desert environment to be more fun. Not all desert environments are created equal, just some of them. We know that the desert will feel like a desert garden. But a desert garden will be so different and unique in appearance that it will be less than one dimensional. That’s why I’m going to show you how to create a new desert environment.
